New Year’s Day saw us going out for lunch so we missed most of the beautiful and rare sunshine that day. But I’ve been out at work today and it was like a spring day. The temperature in the polytunnel reached the staggering height of 16 degrees! It was just rather special to be able to work outside so I got plenty of exercise by barrowing compost to parts of the garden which weren’t too soggy. I also cut a few things down, dug up some brambles and did some gerneral weeding. There’s so much to do and, fingers crossed, it looks like the weather is going to be good for a day or two. The cat was good company for most of the day although he seemed to need a rest for an hour or so, sitting in the sun and soaking up the warmth.
