I haven’t written here for a while but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working over the last few weeks. We had some lovely sunny days last week which made everyone feel better and I felt encouraged to get on with some potting. The only problem was that when it got too hot in the tunnel I couldn’t do much in the garden because it was too wet and soggy. The grass needs mowing but, again, because the ground is so soft it will have to be put off for a while.

I did plant the potatoes in barrels which are now in the tunnel so I should get some early potatoes in June. Philip has done a lot of tidying and weeding in the sales area including the shade tunnel so we’re looking neat and tidy.

Normally all our plants for sale are grown on the site but it looked like there wasn’t much on offer so we ordered a few plants from a local wholesaler. among these new ones are some campanula, some caryopteris and some dark leaved elder.

Each day more plants are putting on more growth and this means that I’m able to get more out of the tunnel and into the sales area.

The garden is now open every day for the NGS and on Friday 17th it will be open for free as part of National Gardening Week. Please come and have a look round.
