Today was the day for putting on my gladrags and trundling off to Charlecote Park (National Trust property) to receive my trowel from Dame Judi Dench. The occasion? To mark the fact that Bridge Nursery has been opening to the public for the National Garden Scheme for 10 years. The weather was exceptionally grim, people were dressed as if it was November not mid June, it was very windy, grey and eventually there was yeet more rain. The ceremony was very short, just a quick shake of hands and then on to the next person but I’m proud to be the owner of and engraved trowel. Now, shall I use it or mount it and just look at it?

Only in the UK would you see streams of people going out in such awful weather, it was good to see so many folk braving the elements.
