Coming back to work after 8 glorious days inTurkey has required some mental adjustment and more layers of clothes! Everything looks very autumnal and even more parched than before I went. Two days of strong winds has been most unpleasant although I should be used to it after 13 years at our very exposed site.The Polytunnels shift and creak alarmingly—there is always the fear that they could be damaged by extreme winds. Customers are unlikely to browse on blustery days and I don’t blame them. I ventured out into the garden to get some cuttings but quickly scurried back to the tunnel to get out of the wind.
