I have been avidly watching the weather forecasts to see when it will rain. I don’t want rain on Saturday when I’m having a plant stall at Priors Marston Manor, that would be too maddening. It looks as if it will rain on Friday which will be so good for the garden. Everything is now showing signs of stress, some plants are wilting, many plants are much shorter than usual and the asters are a bit late coming into flower. I just wish we could have had some of last years rain this year. Inevitably the dryness means that plant sales are not good which is completely understandable, I wouldn’t dream of planting anything now, it would be impossible to dig a hole anyway.
So, if you are local, do come to the country fair on Saturday and rub shoulders with Patsy Kensit and Andrew Ridgley and buy a plant or two.
