What’s happening? Customers are few and far between. We can’t really blame the weather because at least its not pouring down with rain like it was this time last year. Although I must admit that its not very summer like and we are just 3 days away from the longest day. We have lots of wonderful plants ready to be planted to make beautiful gardens. We’ve just heard that a local wholesaler is only going to grow to contract because this is the second bad year in a row for them. I suspect that if the buying public don’t get a wriggle on then there will be far fewer nurseries and garden centres next year. The choice might then be restricted to the larger chains which, generally speaking have a more limited range of plants for sale.
Having just visited Bridge Nursery for the first time today, I really hope people get out there and support you. I’m not at all green fingered but Christine took lots of time to help us pick some beautiful bamboos and ferns, plants and service we definitely couldn’t get at Homebase or similar generic garden centres. I was also very pleasantly surprised at how little the plants cost. It’s a lovely intimate nursery that I would encourage you to visit. Many thanks to Christine, the plants look beautiful and have bought our tiny gravel backyard to life! Karen and Joe Galvin.
Thanks for that. I always try to offer help when its needed, and its often needed but that’s where I think we have something special to offer that the bigger places fail on.
What a lovely comment mum. See how your fabulous and lengthy experience is so useful.
