It might be cold with a strong wind but the plants are shooting and sprouting and budding up with great promise. The first flower today on Helianthemum ‘Bunbury’ and the polemoniums are beginning to flower. I’m checking plants daily to see which are ready to put outside, there are usually 2 or 3 trolleys to put into the sales beds.

I planted a few more plants today and I’m trying to do the weeding at the same time. The rose-bay willow herb is growing at an alarming rate. Strangely there is less hairy bitter cress than usual but more dandelions. Its too windy  to spray so I’m digging them up, yes I know I don’t get all the roots but at least it stops them for the time being.

Olearia delavayi is looking brilliant as is the magnolia and the pulmonarias. Its so lovely to have some colour in the garden after such a long winter.
