I’ve bought a book! I read the review of ‘The bad tempered gardener’ a while ago and have only just got round to buying it. Thankfully it is completely different from other gardening books in that Anne Wareham is commenting on the drawbacks and difficulties of gardening. It is refreshing to read someones thoughts and ideas that aren’t necessarily positive. There are many reasons why the whole process of making and maintaining a garden are maddening, think of the pests and diseases, the ‘wrong’ weather and plants not behaving like the books say they should. An apt question is why do people garden?
