I think I’m fighting a losing battle with the rose-bay willow herb. There seems to be a never ending supply of it and very often it sneakily puts itself hard up against or amongst other plants so that its hard to see. The garden would surely end up being a completely wild area within 6 months if it was left. There’s also bramble seedlings growing at an alarming rate, usually in some difficult to get at place. The ground has hardened up so that pulling weeds is not so easy. Mind you, who ever suggested that gardening was easy was lying, unless perhaps you have someone who does the work for you. Its also supposed to be theraputic but I suspect thats just for people who dabble in a small garden purely for their own pleasure. When there are visitors there is a certain standard to try to maintain which needs to be done frequently.

Amazingly, we have had lots of garden visitors who come in all weather, put their donation in the box and wander round and admire.
