Our nursery is quite close to a reservoir and, at this time of year, is on the flight path of what seems like hundreds of Canadian geese. There is usually a considerable amount of noisy honking as they fly overhead. Today I was pottering around in a polytunnel, moving plants inside and weeding as I went. I opened the back door to fling some weeds outside and was stopped in my flinging by a rather unusal and gruesome sight. A large and half eaten goose with feathers and other bits and pieces strewn around on the ground. How did it get there? They never normally stop off at our place so I wonder what caused it to end up there. I’m hoping Mr Fox will deal with all the scattered remains.
